General Gardening and Maintenance
General gardening and garden maintenance is a big part of what we do, from weeding to pruning and hedge trimming.
Small Amenity and Fruit Tree Pruning and Maintenance
Small tree pruning and care is a specialty of Miriam’s. Fruit tree pruning comprises another component of this service and we will advise you on the correct time of year for us to prune a particular species of fruit tree before commencing the work.
Hedge Trimming
Miriam has spent many years perfecting hedge trimming. With a very good eye for symmetry she will be able to prune even the most challenging of hedges back into a straight line for you or cloud pruning if you prefer a more organic look.
Miriam is a qualified horticulturalist with 20 years of experience in different aspects of horticulture.
Soft scaping
Planting of plants and trees. Dressing the newly landscaped area up, adding of mulch, bark or rocks and pebbles.
About East West
After working in the arboriculture, landscape gardening and amenity gardening sectors a move to Kawerau from Auckland prompted a change from working for other peoples businesses to starting up my own business as Hummingbird Garden and Yard which has now evolved into EastWest.
I have a background in amenity gardening and arboriculture with a Diploma of Sustainable Horticulture. I’ve spent many years in both the tree industry on the tools as an arborist and also in the office and within the gardening and landscaping industry, some working for premier parks in Auckland as well as running private contracts and then my own business in Western Australia. I have now also added landscape and garden design to my repertoire.
